Blank Firing Guns
Blank Firing guns for collecting, theatrical use, firearms training, and starting at sporting events are a major product line of IAR Inc., America's leading supplier of historically accurate blank gun reproductions. These replicas accurately match the appearance of the original, yet are entirely safe because the barrels are plugged in compliance with Federal law. Plugs include a steel plug in the middle of the barrel, and visible orange plug at the end of the barrel. They cannot be converted to fire live ammo, thereby reducing liability. They are also substantially less expensive then their operational counterparts.
By faithfully replicating the appearance of their historical counterparts,
our blank firing guns are found in many fine gun collections. They are also used in many
movies and theatrical productions where historical accuracy is required. By being safe and
low in cost, they are used in gun handling training, where they avoid possible accidents
and damage to costly real firearms. Check out this excellent article on blank firing guns for handgun training, published in Law Enforcement Technology Magazine of April 2000 (reproduced with permission).
How to Purchase Blank Firing Guns
All of IAR's blank firing guns are available for purchase over this web site to U.S. locations with the exception of California. California residents need to call 1-877-722-1873 to see if they qualify to purchase these products under California state law guidelines. No Federal license is required, but you must 21 years of age or older to purchase. The buyer is responsible for determining whether there are local prohibitions toward the sale or use of blank firing guns. Never display in public in a way where someone may think that you have a real gun.

"IAR Inc. supplies blank firing handguns that are ideal for law enforcement training. These blank firing handguns are manufactured by Bruni in Italy. Unlike the more familiar blank handguns - starter pistols - these hand guns look, feel and act like real the weapons that are popular in law enforcement,". - from blank firing gun article in Law Enforcement Technology Magazine
Blank Firing Gun Ammunition
IAR stocks a large supply of 8 mm blanks for use in its M-92F, M-85 and other blank gun reproductions, plus .380 and .22 LR (6 mm) blanks for use in its reproduction revolvers. The plastic special half loads are a new product designed to be used where too much noise would be a problem. Please see Blank Firing Guns Ammo & Magazines.
IAR also stocks blank ammo for use in live firearms designed to use this type of ammo. The ammo comes in a variety of calibers, in black powder or smokeless versions, in full, half and even quarter loads, and in packages of 10, 25 or 50 rounds. It is not designed for use in blank firing reproduction firearms. Using this ammo will cause the real firearm to fire single-shot only. Also, a certain amount of debris will project from the end of the barrel. Please see Blank Firing Ammunition for Real Guns.
